Rolling Stone Announces the Neal Casal Music Foundation

The good folks at Rolling Stone had the exclusive announcement of the Foundation launch to coincide with the Kickstarter campaign launching the same day.

With multiple projects underway to celebrate the memory and life of Neal, a group of Neal's close friends dug into the archive of music and photography Neal left behind to create items raising awareness and funds for the newly formed Neal Casal Music Foundation (NCMF), a 501c3 charity organization.

The foundation will donate musical instruments and music lessons for students in New Jersey and New York state schools where Neal was born and raised, as well as make donations towards much needed mental health support for musicians.

“[Neal] He had tasteful restraint. When I go up onstage and play, I just try to get it for everything I can and eat it all up. Neal was able to sit back and choose his notes so wisely. He had that in spades. He could craft a very musical guitar solo,” Strings tells Rolling Stone. “His photography will always stick out to me too. You got an insight into what his mind was like. He was such a beautiful person, a beautiful creative mind.”
